Mojave Of California
J. Williams
The Mojave nation of California and Arizona occupied a unique desert region bordering the Colorado River. Unlike many California Native American groups, they depended on a combination of growing food and gathering for their subsistence. During the period after 1769, the Mojaves adopted the use of the horse and became extraordinary warriors.
